FORCEFIELD WORLD CHAMPION

CONGRATULATIONS CHRIS HOLDER

Forcefield sponsored speedway racer Chris Holder won his maiden World Title on 6th October at the Marian Rose Motoarena in Torun, Poland. The 25-year-old went into the final round of the 2012 series holding a two point lead over Nicki Pedersen, and Holder made the perfect start to Round 12 with a determined win in his opening ride.

Holder followed his victory with a second place in heat 6, and a further point was added in his third ride. In the headline heat 13, Holder returned to winning ways with a dominant win over his nearest championship challenger Nicki Pedersen, the win also secured his place in the semi-finals.

With Pedersen faulting in his qualification races, and making his way through to the semi-finals on the count back system, Holder headed into the semi-finals needing just four points to seal a series victory.

Both Holder and Pedersen were up against each other in the second semi-final, and in a tight first bend, the Dane fell after being nudged off his bike by the Australian, but the referee judged that all four riders would return for a restart.

And in that restart, Holder made the best gate to lead into the first bend, he went on to win the race and secure his maiden World Title after Nicki Pedersen could only manage third place.

Holder was joined by Antonio Lindback, Tomasz Gollob and Greg Hancock in the final race of the 2012 series, and it looked like he would cap the meeting off with a meeting victory but on the first lap his bike packed up.

Antonio Lindback went on to win the meeting ahead of a hard charging Tomasz Gollob with Greg Hancock completing the podium.
