NEW YORK’S FINEST LANDS BACK IN BELFAST

Jacobsen back on Irish soil...

American wonder kid PJ Jacobsen arrives back in Belfast later today [Sunday August 26] on vacation with his girlfriend, after falling in love with the place following his brief experience riding with Northern Ireland based Tyco Suzuki.

The visit is very much two-fold with further discussions taking place this week with team manager Philip Neill, but we caught up with the 18-year-old to ask him how much he enjoyed his British championship experience in the Superstock class, riding at Oulton and Brands Hatch – where he impressed with top eight finishes.

It was great and I tell people I didn’t stop laughing from I arrived in Ireland until I left. Everyone said there are some serious teams in BSB, but the Tyco Suzuki team is both serious when it matters and the guys are also very funny, and it’s important to have both.

Everything is so much better when you’re having a tough day and your head is wrapped around wondering what to do; all the guys in the team are there to cheer you up, so it was good. Another thing I noticed, was the guys on the team really seem to care about each other and they’ve shown me that too. Once you join the TAS guys you’re not just another rider – they care about you also. That really helps...
