SIDI STARS IN SUPERCROSS - Second place for Davi Millsaps in the 2012 FIM World Supercross championship!

The World Supercross Championship for 2012 reached its conclusion with the seventeenth and last event at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. Sidi has also made its mark on the most intense Supercross series in the World thanks to Davi Millsaps.

In Las Vegas Millsaps rode his Yamaha to close out the final race of the year in second place, right behind Ryan Dungey. Born in Orlando, Florida in 1985 but a resident in California, “Davi”’s brilliant performance this season also carried him to second place in the final classification for the series. At the beginning of the season no one could have predicted this great result, which was built by the American race after race. Millsaps has had a shining career that also includes the 2006 World Title in the Supercross Lites category, and he has become one of the most talented and competitive pilots on the American circuit.

The final verdict in the world rankings speaks for itself: the champion is Ryan Villopoto, prevailing in first place with 323 points, followed by Davi Millsaps in second place with 266 points. The winner of Las Vegas, Ryan Dungey, was overall third with 257 points, while Justin Brayton was fourth with 257 points and Jake Weimer was fifth with a total of 229.

This second place is really an important and prestigious result for Sidi, which stands out at the forefront of World Motocross racing on the Old Continent, where Tony Cairoli and other aces from the Sidi stables dominate, and in America, where Davi Millsaps is keeping the Sidi colors flying high. The common denominator in these extraordinary successes is Sidi Crossfire, the number one boot for cross that is confirming itself as the unbeatable king of off road, in any situation and on any type of terrain.

MOTOCROSS WMX: LANCELOT VS FONTANESI - The battle for World dominance continues between the two Sidi champions

MOTOCROSS WMX: LANCELOT VS FONTANESI
The battle for World dominance continues between the two Sidi champions
*Click Image for Larger View_Livia Lancelot*
Maser (Treviso), 16 April, 2012 - The head to head between Chiara Fontanesi and Livia Lancelot in the WMX World series continues. The second round in the women's World Championship, which took place Sunday on the French Castelnau de Lévis circuit, opened a new act in this thrilling duel, which will most likely last throughout the entire season.
Chiara Fontanesi won the first rainbow race of the season in Holland. This time instead,  in the French GP  Livia Lancelot was on her home turf and she was calling the shots in both trials, in race1 as well as race2,  coming in right in front of her rival,  Fontanesi. Not even the wind and rain could stop these intrepid gals from  Sidi Sport - branded motocross. In fact, as always, they could  both  count on the help of their Sidi Crossfires, the number one boots in motocross that remain unbeatable on any terrain and in any weather condition, even the most difficult.

The world challenge is starting to heat up; Fontanesi is still ahead in the standings with 94 points, but right behind her, at a distance of just  two lengths,  the spectre of Livia Lancelot looms large. The next date in this compelling, Sidi-stamped, pink challenge is set for May 20 with the Italian GP in  Arco di Trento.

Vemar Off Road VRX7 Review on Webbikeworld.com

Summary
The Vemar VRX7 is a good-looking, light weight and comfortable off-road helmet.
...the VRX7 performs surprisingly well as a street helmet and it's quieter than many full-face or dual-sport helmets.

The finish is one of those differences; off-road or motocross helmets are known for their loud colors and graphics and the VRX7 in this yellow, white and black high-contrast "Spinning" color is an eye-popper but in a good way.

However, the most significant difference -- and one that isn't obvious until you pick it up -- is the helmet's light weight. The VRX7 is made in Italy from a carbon fiber, aramid and fiberglass blend and it's among the lightest helmets we've ever put on the webBikeWorld scale.

The VRX7 is a North American helmet only (i.e., not sold in Europe). The shell is made in three sizes to cover an expanded head size range, so everyone should be able to find that perfect fit. But I'm getting ahead of myself here, so let's take a closer look...

Helmet Weight
The carbon-aramid-fiberglass shell construction of the VRX7 does seem to lower the weight and the helmet indeed feels light, which helps reduce rider stress.
In fact, the VRX7 is one of the lightest helmets we've ever weighed out of 171 helmets reviewed to date.

The VRX7 has definitely won me over; indeed, I'd rather wear this helmet than any of the dual-sport helmets I've tried...at least in hot, dry weather. Besides, it looks great on the DR650!

The VRX7 costs less than the rather outrageously priced Shoei off-road helmets and my feeling is that it's nearly equivalent. It costs more than many of the cheaper off-road helmets but you're also getting the five-year Vemar warranty and you're buying the light weight and solid shell.

Bobby from Battley Cycles Visits Motonation!

How is Motonation different from the competition? How long do you have?

When we have dealers visit, we look at them as friends just as much business partners. We all know that the "bigger guys" like to say they are your partners, but really we just keep it simple. Our friend Bobby from the world famous Battley Cycles  in Maryland stopped by for a visit over the weekend. Did we all get in our company branded button up shirts and start crunching the numbers? Of course not. We are not old and out of touch. We just went fishing....

Nicola from Vemar visits Motonation

Nicola, of Vemar helmets, visited Motonation today to celebrate his birthday. Well most likely did not come to beautiful Santee, CA just for his birthday....but we celebrated it anyways.

note: the smile on Nicola's face isn't from the gesture of a card, but more from what was on it.

Words from our Fearless Leader: Motonation's Bill Berroth: Don't back off Promotions

Bill Berroth,
president of Motonation, on what he learned in 2010.

"Dealernews: What is your gameplan for taking on 2011? What specific changes are you making?

Bill Berroth: Honestly, Motonation is planning on 2011 being another challenging year. That said, Sidi has done a great job getting us some exciting new price-point boots that should fit the market conditions very well. This is a major change from Sidi, which usually tries to build the best product possible with no consideration of price points. Other than that, we have found that Motonation’s limited distribution policy on the AGV Sport, Sidi and Vemar brands serve us well in a challenging economic environment."

Puffer + Two Yards of Margaritas + A Prius Taxi ride in Las Vegas

At first you would think that some random taxi cab driver nabbed the elusive bigfoot in Las Vegas. But upon closer inspection it is just the eCommerce sales manager from Motonation. All 6'5" stuffed into the front seat of a 7" car.
